The I series of free standing sculptures was inspired by ancient bells found in Shinto shrines in Kyoto, Japan.

This piece describes the "I" as teacher/sensi. The Japanese Character for teacher is carved into the clay body and is also symbolized by the top coils repesenting the teachngs and students using their hearts and heads together.
